Which Friend did you Fact (Part 3)

Hellohello this is part 3 of my Friend Facts posting. Part 1 is here, the video is here.

This post is, specifically, about the random art I contributed to the project. Not my entries, but rather drawings I made for parts of the video not especially about me. Part 4 will include my Stranger entries.

These were shared once before, but they definitely belong here.



Designing three journals to be the "friend facts" books for each space, just for fun. I imagine the first book has a sort of zippery texture, the second one has thread, and the last one is flat. All spiralized. I find it cute, glad it's used a lot.





I mentioned the April Fools video in the first post as well, but here's the Kel on his own just for fun.

I also did two frames of the lineart for Hero in that video since I was asked for him. I also did some of the voice acting and pulled my brother in to do Omori etc etc whatever

Pixel book gifs are also used around the place, mostly for the now mostly-archived Friend Facts server icon, which would alternate between the three in a loop. I think I did a good job compressing my designs into pixel art.



This one I made for the halloween event, where people who played the Hikikomori route of the game could get a second character exclusive to it. Lots of people hadn't played it so we wanted to encourage people to do so before the final video gave them spoilers! I don't think this art ever actually got posted anywhere, but it's cute. Cursey is Skylar's character and Stranger is mine, so sometimes we'd use them to represent ourself in the project.

Some of the winners also got prize art, Sky drew some of it and I drew the other part



Once person asked for Aubrey, another person asked for Stranger Aubrey. I decided to combine for a fun final product



An AU version of Omori yes he does look like that. It was fun to draw the hair and the sort of "spider" parts



And this person wanted Basil in the outfit from his birthday art. Secretly I made it to match one of my TRAT images of Sunny in his birthday art

This one was used for just a newspost where we talked about the last 5 characters chosen, haha. They were not the last 5 drawn- many needed backups, but this art is cute. What an odd collection! Sometimes I prefer drawing in Asprite just because the paint bucket tool makes things faster sometimes.

Now onto some backgrounds.

I didn't make even 1% of the backgrounds for Friend Facts, but I helped with quite a few. Most of them have a huge amount of effort put into them and are only used once. I imagine it's something most people won't notice!

I did all the pizza people's backgrounds, making edits of 3 main houses to mirror the three sets of houses as seen in game. I got these houses off of ZILLOW and drew over the adresses

I was astounded by the amount of effort put into the pixel art of these houses that players just rush through and can never truly visit, same with the amount of unique designs for NPCs that have interchangable dialogue. It was one of those sets of stretch goal NPCs that seemed dumb to add because NO ONE WILL NOTICE THESE CUSTOMER NPCS MISSING AND WE ALREADY HAVE A LOT ON OUR PLATE but the idea of having these completely obscure virtually unused NPCs in our video seemed hilarious so they made it in!

I believe Sky made some minor edits to these like if a character would cover up a prop and maybe adding bricks to one. AS YOU CAN SEE, THESE WERE VERY HIGH EFFORT. I ADDED SOME DIRT TO THE GORUND AND EVERYTHING.

Will anyone watching the video notice these are very detailed edits? They'll likely skim over it assuming its just a regular photo. Will people notice they are of art of houses in the original Omori? No way, you barely even get to see the original houses. Did the attention to detail that made it so that the photoshop job wasn't bad so you can appreciate the art without being distracted improve the video? I think so!!

Basil's grandma's room. A zoomed in version is used for the next few entries as well.

I remember deliberating a lot on the order of Basil's house, the characters switching places where they went all the time and the writing changing with it. Is the soup mentioned in Polly's entry past or future tense?? Much debate to be had over these little things.

The WIP for Black Space 2 Basil's background, Skylar finished it. Collecting elements in itself is truly a task. We especially struggled with finding good pictures including those big shipping containers all over Junkyard areas...

6 - Swingset Basil and Evil friends background WIP, Skylar finished it. That room was really hard to figure out, especially with the scrolling cat.

Lost Library staircase, I believe a collab between me and Skylar. I believe I remember doing this one on voice chat?

I MIGHT have worked on some more but at this point I've forgotten and it was likely little more than finding images on the internet for Skylar to work on. This behind the scenes should MOSTLY just give you HUUUUGE appreciation for the work Skylar did, doing this every day like 700 times to an incredibly high standard.

Then at the VERY LAST MINUTE

We also TOTALLY FORGOT to make a video thumbnail until it was LITERALLY UPLOADING... So I designed one last minute based on other popular Omori MAPs as well as other videos on the Friend Facts channel

I'm currently feeling quite low and Skylar hasn't rendered my Stranger art yet so part 4 will have to wait for a little longer. I need a break for my hands because I've literally been doing nothing but typing for the last two days, haha.

I know what kind of texture you're talking about, the one that you'd usually find on notebooks for elementary school students.
All three of these journals look so authentic and fitting on their backgrounds and in their pixelart versions. Imagine if they were sold as merch?

Sunny caught swearing in his journal again! Honestly, that's an appropriate reaction to seeing the chicken Kel thing that owes him money in the doorway.

Curtsey and Stranger look really lovely together. Seems like they dressed as each other for Halloween. |3

That drawing with Basil in the birthday outfit truly matches the drawing of Sunny from TRAT! They look like they should be in the same post for the blog. :0

Is that Hero's dad in the art with the last 5 chosen characters? Oh well, lol.

I still feel somewhat out of place in that Omori sprite edits group, I simply wanted to help my friends, nothing more than that! But you say I deserved a spot, weeeeh. |'D

It's true, you can forget those NPCs even exist. And yet it's cool they received their spotlight on Friend Facts!

Those houses from ZILLOW look so similar to the game sprites and they also give off pretty nostalgic vibes, like a screenshot from a 90's PC game.
I can see how you added blocks of grass and a lane of sand to some of them. You wouldn't notice those edits without looking closely, but that just means it was a well done job! You earned the title of the Photoshop master.◈

Those Black Space backgrounds look eery and "corrupted", pretty unsettling.

It does give me appreciation for yours and Skylar's job!
I think it's useful to archive this background information about the work process somewhere, people need to see that art is more than just the finished result, haha.

You definitely deserve the credit for helping with the documents for hours, and I definitely like having any excuse to have people in there. The other "additional helpers" in some cases did less than you! It's really fine

Now I know everything about OMORI: CUSTOMER?

I think I remember helping a bit in the middle for the Basil's house background as well? but that was definitely a 3 person thing and idk if I have the files for it
