I run the biiiiiiiiiggest collaboration ever seen in this massive old fandom. I don't think there will be any spoilers for OMORI in here but it is about it so ye cut there is
Events required for this timeline to have happened:
- In January 2024 my hand got injured
- In April 2024 I started writhing LiveJournal/Dreamwidth posts bc it was something I could do that was not drawing
- In June 2024 my friend bought me OMORI
- In the following months I created several extremely long posts about it
- One of these posts was an essay about Stranger
- Lonely and looking for friends I asked someone who was also a fan of Stranger if I could join their discord
- I am recognized there and my art is one of the stickers
- Chat there a little. Some people like my essay
- Stop talking there after the first few hours
- November 2024 I get invited to manage a project by someone who I briefly talked to on the server but know nothing else about and say sure
This trailer briefly explains it:

Speaking of main cast, there's one exception to only getting one character each (or, well, multiple, because despite Skylar trying to keep it 1 each for the most part it's just easier to get to the goal faster AKA for me to add more obscure characters if people do more than one) which is main cast.
Main cast is in the video, BUT any artist who gets one also has to draw a minor NPC to keep within the spirit of appreciating the little guys. Except, people applied for main cast, instead of just handing the character to the first good applicant, we'd put on a consideration list to decide "later".
At some point I made a Reddit post, because that was a place we hadn't reached out to, and it was veeeery successful. Included an FAQ in it even.
Eventually I made a "Completed Entries" list that would show the character sprite, credits to whichever artist drew them, and the order they'd all appear in the video in (chronological like the game).I realized 1. This video would be 3 hours long, and 2. You could basically retell the entire story of Omori with it, if only a few more key character variants would show up.

I sat for 10 hours making this once.
I also drew some promo art for it to be used in icons n backgrounds n stuff

QUO'S PIXEL ART ADVENTURES CONTINUE!
As 50 applicants turned into 100, and 100 turned into 200, managing the Discord Server that we created mostly to streamline talking to a lot of people became more and more difficult to manage. BUT it's a pretty friendly place and shockingly I might've made like... one or two FRIENDS from it. crazy.
A bunch of really cool people started joining that had like more than 3 followers! Some cool people even posted their own videos about the project!
so cool. so cool. so cool.
My sister also did an entry with the only instruction being I had to write it alone lol. This one has a prop!
First of April we did a fools video where we pretended like we'd finally picked the main cast. I orignized it and I drew Kel and I helped with Hero's lineart and I worked on all the entries and I voice acted- and other people did stuff too (jkjk it was a huge collaborative effort but I did work on it very hard)
"Quo what characters are you actually working on" well I got to pick any I wanted bc I'm a mod so I decided I wanted Stranger because I could draw him well, had a lot of ideas, and was invited bc of my Stranger Essay (which still doesn't have a chapter 2).
When I created the completed document for the video I decided it made sense if some characters appeared multiple times, Stranger being one of them, so three other versions of him were made (Boss Fight Stranger from the hiki route, obscure Basil-Stranger from the Truth section, and a secret one) and also given to other artists. The Stranger I draw still appears 3 times though, at the barn, the lost library, and first appearing in Black Space.
I got him before there was a rule about main character artists also having to draw an NPC so I don't have an NPC! I plan to pick one from the list of ones not taken by other artists lol. I haven't had much time to work on Stranger though given the MANY OTHER THINGS I'VE BEEN HAVING TO DO but there's a bunch of concept art.

After we hit 300 a TON of REALLY REALLY BIG Omori artists joined at once. Skylar had finally invited them because I said that I wanted to assign main cast on May 1st bc I didn't want to make people who signed on in November to have to wait 6 months to find out if they got theirs or not, so Sky finally invited them in case they could be considered for main cast and some of them did and then told their friends. Cooooooool
Running the project can be very stressful because there are a lot more people that recognize my name than I'm used to...

I didn't like the huge empty space seen in a lot of the mp4 versions of these Friend Facts so I star
ted designing boarders to put on the sides to make them look better, and 2 other artists are helping me out!

Absolutely slaying if I say so myself.
Anyways uhhhh feel free to join if it interests you, don't sweat it if not. I just wanted to make this post to sort of document how it's going since I work on it like 8 hours a day and have for months. Currently we're at about 350 people, and about 200 finished entries I'd say. I need to get a lot more completed entries but other than that I'd say we're pretty on track thanks to the dedication of spending this year on it.
It's scheduled to come out on December 25th, Omori's fifth anniversary, so it is a pretty hard deadline and why we have to push it so much. I try to do math around November 1st. We're a little behind on completing these 100% so we've been picking up the pace a lot. I think we can make it!!! Let's go team!!!
cough I need to go eat
